Beit Rishonim, the Founders’ House, is a community museum showcasing the history of Herzliya from its inception in 1924 until 1960, through a variety of exhibits, including documents, memorabilia, pictures, and other visual aids.
The permanent exhibition includes a reconstruction of the first hut of Herzliya, a replica of a living room from the 1940s, a three-tiered timeline that presents the most important historical events in the world, in Palestine, and in Herzliya, as well as other exhibits documenting the cultural and community life in the colony.
Beit Rishonim is a charming destination, in the historical home of the Chizik family. It has a lovely botanical garden – perfect for a few moments of respite before adventuring back on the streets to explore the rest of Herzliya. There are also activities designed for the young visitors of the museum and for school pupils.
